Top 6 Questions:

  • What is the program cost/tuition?

Our tuition is $4,750 for the seven-month certification program when you choose our long-term payment plan. However you can save an additional $1,000 when you pay in full, bringing your tuition down to $3,750!

For specifics, fill out our application and your admissions advisor will work with you to choose and access the most affordable tuition plan.

  • Is attendance to live classes required?

We require 100% participation in order to become a Certified Jai Parenting Coach. In the case of inevitable life circumstances, we do offer the ability to watch the class recording and submit reflections to count towards your class participation. That being said, all students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of their Live Classes in order to become certified.

The live classes are essential to you achieving the capability and confidence as a coach. It’s where you practice, ask questions and get feedback from your Jai Master Trainer.

  • Am I qualified to be a Parenting Coach?

One of the biggest myths we hear from potential students is the idea that in order to be a Parenting Coach, you need to be a “PERFECT PARENT.” This is simply not the case, nor an achievable ideal.

The Jai Methodology embraces the truth that we are all human, we all make mistakes and that one of the most powerful skills in any relationship is the ability to create REPAIR: to allow conflict, while staying connected. You will learn how to support your CLIENTS to learn this skill, based on our methodology, not your day-to-day experience as a parent.

While many of our students have backgrounds in education, traditional mental health and medicine, this is not a prerequisite to becoming a parenting coach. Our curriculum is robust, giving you the foundations of child development, attachment science, non-violent communication, emotional intelligence and professional coaching skills to empower you to succeed regardless of your background or prior education.

  • Are there successful parent coaches?

Many! We believe with our whole hearts, that there will come a day when parenting coaches are as common place in a family’s support system as pediatricians, which means we’ve only scratched the surface of the opportunity to do this vital work.

Some of our graduates are using their certification as a side gig, while homeschooling, raising young children, or working in a different career. Others have created full-time income through their practice. We are proud that many of our graduates are authors, leaders and influencers in the Peaceful Parenting space.

Here’s some of their businesses to inspire you to see what is possible!

  • Is Jai accredited/ ICF certified?

When you graduate from the Jai Institute for Parenting you are being certified by Jai to use our materials and coach using our proprietary methodology.

The accrediting body for life coaches is the International Coach Federation, or ICF. We are NOT an ICF accredited coach training program as we do not qualify because of our specialization in parent coaching, vs. comprehensive life coaching.

We could pursue accreditation as a specialty program, however, this would only be useful to already certified ICF life coaches. Because this would make our program more expensive (most ICF certified programs are in the range of $8,000-12,000 for tuition) we are not pursuing this at this time.

Listen to our CEO, Kiva Schuler speak about it here.

  • When does the next training begin?

Since we are committed to the small-group training model, we have new groups starting 2-4 times a month. To find an upcoming cohort that will work for your schedule, fill out the application and your admissions advisor will help you find a group that works for you!
