Why We Are the World’s Leading Parenting Coach Certification

We train and certify Parenting Coaches, in a science-based, 7-month professional coach training program.

Our fundamental and guiding philosophy is based on this truth: Children’s behavior is a direct reflection of their needs (met or unmet) and our triggers (expressed consciously or expressed unconsciously). When we change, our children’s behavior changes. Without exception. So we provide a deep transformational experience for parents first.

As you let go of your residual feelings and unconscious belief patterns left over from your childhood and the way you were parented—you are able to quickly release the old, limiting beliefs and replace them with your own empowering beliefs—the ones that will truly support your best parenting.

Since the unconscious mind accounts for over 90% of our behavior, parents see a change in their children, almost immediately. But we don't teach adults how to change children's behavior. We coach parents to change theirs.

The specific tools and strategies that we teach are grounded in the foundations of Non-Violent Communication, Emotional Intelligence Childhood Development, Attachment Science, and Nervous System Regulation.

These strategies allow parents to successfully shift out of the dominant (power over), or permissive (power under) paradigms of parenting, which create disconnection, resentment and rebellion… to the relational paradigm of parenting which restores connection, trust and respect.

The certification training is a seven-month journey that begins with you experiencing the work for yourself and your own family. As a coach, you can’t take others where you haven’t gone. Many of our students report that this portion of the training alone is “life changing…” “worth every penny”... and “transformational.”

You’ll then discover how to create this same experience for the clients that you’ll serve using our unique 13-step coaching process. As a coach, you’ll have access to our entire parent training platform, meaning you’ll be able to provide more value in less time, and give your clients access to a curriculum that has transformed thousands of parents’ relationships with their children.

Our passion is supporting our coaches to create “right sized businesses,” by ensuring that along with the skills to create transformation in the families they serve, they gain the skills of marketing and sales that work to enroll parents into their coaching practice. Our story…

What started as two moms on a quest to find a new way to parent for their own children and heal their own family lineage has evolved into a world-class, science-based parenting training organization with graduates all over the world. Our work is informed by developmental psychology, brain science, and nervous system science.

Our coaches teach, model and support parents to learn emotional intelligence, empowered communication, and values-led leadership. We provide them with parent coaching so that they can shift away from ineffective and painful behaviors, becoming the leaders their children deserve.

Our coaching toolbox includes communication, emotional, somatic (feeling within the body), and generational pattern coaching. With our 5-D Coaching Process, you’ll use these tools to change lives!

Meet Our Founder & CEO

Kiva Schuler

Kiva Schuler is the Founder and CEO of The Jai Institute for Parenting, and the author of the ground-breaking book The Peaceful Parenting (R)evolution: Changing the World by Changing How We Parent which examines the “consequences” of traditional parenting methods and offers a more modern approach grounded in emotional intelligence, values-led leadership, and effective communication.

Kiva’s passion for parenting stemmed from her own childhood experiences of neglect and trauma. Like many of her generation, she had a front-row seat to the kind of parenting that she did not want for her own children. The Jai Institute is the fulfillment of a promise that she made to herself when she was 16 years old that when she had children of her own, she would learn to parent them with compassion, consistency and communication.

On a mission to change the culture around parenting, Kiva wants children to grow up to reach their full potential, and live their lives free of trauma, shame and emotional wounds. As a mother, she has built an extraordinary business that has touched tens of thousands of lives, and empowered others who share her mission to do this work.
